Kick Starter 2020 winners - where are they now?
The 2021 Sefa Partnerships and Macquarie Group Kick Starter program is open for entries right now. Sefa Partnerships consultant, Sandra Kemp, recently caught up with one of last year’s winners to see how they were tracking since their Kick Starter experience.
I was very excited to catch up with one of 2020’s Kick Starter winners, Glitta Supernova from the Naughty Noodle Fun Haus (NNFH), to find out how life is going post ‘that’ year and the Kick Starter program. NNFH is delivering its third curated multi-arts season, challenging perceptions of what the Central Coast can deliver through contemporary, diverse and vibrant arts and cultural programming.
“This year we have literally hit the ground running, since November when the Covid curtain partially lifted, growing faster than we can almost manage, embedding social innovation and shaping societal diversity norms through collaborative, creative opportunities, deep community partnering, fun and vibrancy! We used the Kick Starter grant to expand our tech kit, enabling new income streams which are COVID proof and further broadening our capacity to deliver. It's been critical for our programming success and enabled new streams, from professional live recording to our industry standard disco ball."
Some of the amazing successes of the past six months include King for a Day performance workshop, Everybody Dance Now (as restrictions eased), and they are about to launch ThursGAY, a safe space creative development program as well as "Blues @ the Haus" partnering up with the Girrakool Blues Festival for a season of curated blues.
We are glad to hear that there is so much going on, and we are proud to have been a small part of it!
